Good Morning Brisbane

Arriving in Brisbane was a real treat, meeting up with Arden again and Vicky flying up from Bondi for the weekend. Arden was busy working so Vicky and I set off to explore the South Bank of the city in the morning before it got crowded, this ended up in some great photos!

The high rises in the background made for a beautiful sunrise along with a morning coffee.

Much like the London Eye (but half the size) any large ferris wheel is quite easy to pick up from a distance.

Brisbane is not actually on the Australia east coast, it's about an hour away so they decided they needed to make some kind of beach. The above photo is the man made Brisbane Beach, which is just a pool that has a lot of sand in it and no fish. As you can see beach spaces is very limited so you get nice and cozy with your tanning buddies!

It was beautiful and made me really look forward to spending a week or so there.

Wet & Wild Waterpark

On our last day in Surfers Paradise we went to Wet & Wild Waterpark which was very fun and it was a nice day which we were very thankful for! We spent the morning there, going down all the rides, I was mostly screaming.

Especially on this particular ride where you stand at the top platform and the floor drops and you go flying down and flip upside down.

All in all a great day at the waterpark!

Warner Brothers Movie World

The next location we hit is Warner Brothers Movie World, they had a Superman and Batman roller coaster! I screamed my head off they were quite amazing!

There were many shows throughout the day, we watched a live Batman show and a live Scooby Doo show. They actually solved a complete mystery as a live show.

Then we watched a Drifting Show, which was incredible! Although it definitely smelt like burning rubber!

Surfers Paradise

So leaving Byron was a sad day but everyone has to move on at some point.

Next stop is Surfers Paradise known for its amazing surfing and theme parks. Being that we just spent a while surfing we decided to hit up the theme parks.

First there was Sea World!

There was one of the most amazing Sea Lion Shows I have ever seen, there was a plot and everything!

And at the end of the day there was a jet ski show that was quite amazing!

Byron Bay

There isn't really a way that I can express how much I loved this city, if there is one place where I felt truly blessed to be it was Byron Bay.

We arrived after a half morning of surfing and settled down in our room for what was suppose to be a 4 night stay.

The days after that are a blur of beach and surfing and swimming, it even included a beautiful hike to the Lighthouse. Its the most easterly point in all of Australia!

As you can see the walk was beautiful, especially at sunset.

Here is the beach and the tiny small white speck on the green mountain is the lighthouse, it was quite a long tiring walk.

There we met tons of new friends and explored the surrounding area!

But sadly you can't live in paradise forever, we had to leave! :(

Coffs Harbour

The first stop after driving for hours out of the Sydney Area is Coffs Harbour. A small coastal city that rely's mainly on the sales of Banana's to keep their economy going. It is also considered to be the city with the most 'liveable' climate in all of Australia.

Australia is famous for their "Big Things" Coffs Harbour boast one of the first "Big Things", you guessed it a giant banana!

Yes, if you would like to know the Banana is quite light!

It's been a while

Well I know it has been forever since a last post so I'm going to be playing catch up for a while. The reason for not posting as much is because Arden and I parted ways. So she is heading home soon and I am quite jealous but looking forward to continuing my journey!

Here is what you missed!

First off we had to say goodbye to the apartment! And Sydney.

Tim and I set off early in the morning (4am to be exact) and headed out on our Oz Experience bus tour!

House Guests

Today we found out we had some new friends and that they love our leftover bread.

They are Rainbow Lorikeets which are in the parrot family and are found all over Australasia, but here they just call them Lori's.

They are also quite the acrobats.

Beautiful Sunset

Just wanted to give you guys a taste of our beautiful life here!
*and maybe make you a little jealous :)

Look at those beautiful colours!
What a way to end an evening!

Easter Surprise!

Since were all living here and there is not a lot of surprises. I decided to leave a surprise for all the roommates this Easter morning.

Leaving a trail of delicious chocolates leading to more chocolates.

Then we went to the beach and built some sandcastles on sleeping friends.

All in all a good day spent at the beach and with friends.

Fireworks at Darling Harbour

There are plenty of things to do in Sydney, we are finding them slowly but surely. One of those things is the Darling Harbour Fireworks, so we set out early and decided to find somewhere nice to have dinner and watch the show.

The view was wonderful as we were right by the flags and across from the famous Hard Rock Cafe and some of the nicest restaurants on the Harbour.

The fireworks were truly a show and were a wonderful cap to a great evening among friends.

New Flat in Bondi!

We have officially moved into our new apartment and it is gorgeous! It's bright and spacious with a great view (on one side). We love it so much we've barely left. It came fully furnished with with every cooking utensil we will ever desire and a washer/dryer combo. The only kink in our otherwise flawless plan is that there are only three double beds and five roommates...  Montana and Vicky are sharing and Tim and I are now bed buddies. Jon lucked out and got his own bed, however it is a futon and collapses easily as we found out when we 'earthquaked' Jon the morning of April Fool's.

Before moving into our new pad we walked down to the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge for some cliche touristy photos.

Here's all of us in front of the Harbour Bridge. From left to right: Montana, Jon, Arden, Tim, Vicky

Being a tourist in Sydney was phenomenal but we're excited to settle down and actually start living here.
